Volunteer at the Stevens' Skywalk

This summer, you can climb the roof of Stevenskerk together with visitors during the Stevens' Skywalk. A unique experience that's only available this summer. Help us make this extraordinary event a great success and contribute simultaneously to the restoration of this iconic monument.

About Stevens' Skywalk 
The Stevenskerk is the beating heart of Nijmegen. On the occasion of its roof restoration, Stevenskerk is opening its roof to the public. Visitors can climb up to the 24.5-meter-high roof and enjoy a panoramic view over the city and beyond. An experience available only this summer!

What will you be doing? 
As a volunteer, you'll ensure every visit runs smoothly and safely. You'll be part of an enthusiastic team and play an essential role in providing visitors with an unforgettable experience. Various roles are available:

Ticket Scanner 
You're the first point of contact for visitors. You welcome them with a smile, scan tickets, and make sure everything goes smoothly so visitors can quickly start enjoying Stevens' Skywalk.

Visitor Guide 
You're the face of Stevens' Skywalk. You'll guide visitors to the stairs, share stories about Stevenskerk and Nijmegen, and ensure everyone returns safely and timely.

Runner 
As a runner, you're versatile and helpful wherever needed—from assisting with the elevator to helping scan tickets. You ensure everything runs smoothly.

Volunteer Coordinator 
You're the main contact for volunteers at Stevens' Skywalk and the liaison with Stevenskerk's stakeholders. You welcome volunteers, handle briefings and debriefings, keep an overview, and ensure smooth operations. In case of emergencies, you're the first volunteer contacted.

What does the job look like for you?

• You start your shift one hour before opening hours (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
• Shifts: either from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM or from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
• You ensure everything is ready for visitors and tidy up afterward, making sure everything is safe.
• We ask you to commit to at least 5 shifts.
• You speak good Dutch or English.
• You're physically fit and comfortable with heights.
